PROJECTS
Shea Business Capacity Building
Throughout the year, in collaboration with strategic partners in the Shea Business Empowerment Program (SBEP). We organized a series of training programs aimed at introducing young women to the shea value chain.
Our aim is to provide training and enhance their capacity for growth.
All this came after the introduction of the SBEP program to the women and the garnering of their interests in the cooperative creation and activities.
The training curriculum included a range of topics:
Cooperative Development, Business Development and Warehouse Management to equip them with the fundamental knowledge about forming and managing cooperatives, as well as basic strategies in developing a business.
This happened in the first quarter. Kernel Aggregation and Quality Trainings in the second quarter on the importance of enhancing the quality of shea nuts and proper processing.
Health and Safety trainings and others like Contracting & Profit sharing, Bookkeeping & Tricycle Management.
All these trainings were followed by community stepdown trainings to ensure the information being taught reached possibly if not all the women in the cooperatives, as many as possible.
